The HR Strategy Room

Many HR professionals rarely get the protected thought leadership time they need to be most effective in their roles: observing organizational trends, identifying patterns in systems, and designing interventions.

The HR Strategy Room is that time. Join us Tuesday, October 27, 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM, to connect with local HR professionals and work real business issues in real time. Breakfast and lunch included.

The power of the collective

Local HR professionals coming together for a half day to work on real business issues and build people plans. Working with an expanded community of practitioners widens the brainstorming and sharpens the decision making, and the connections continue well after the session ends.

This is a working session, not a seminar, so come prepared for experiential learning.

What attendance includes

If selected to participate in The HR Strategy Room, attendance includes:

  • An intentionally selected cohort of twenty, diverse in industry and experience
  • Expert facilitation by Dr. Quennette Taylor, with 20+ years inside Fortune 100 organizations including Nike, Honeywell, Boeing, and Walgreens
  • Breakfast and lunch, with time to connect
  • The session workbook
  • An advance reader copy of Dr. Taylor's new book
  • Coaching office hours after the session
  • A 90-day cohort check-in
  • Virtual community connections with your cohort

Full value: $495

Inaugural cohort pricing: $65

Ideal participants

Any HR professional who wants to elevate their game and elevate the function. That may include:

  • HR departments of one
  • HR business partners who want more consistency at the table
  • Directors building a people strategy for the first time
  • Professionals earlier in their career who are ready to develop the strategic side of the work

Participants need at least three years of experience in human resources. Beyond that, years of experience is not the criterion. Readiness is.

Selection is based on your written statement of interest and on building a rich mix of industries, experiences, and perspectives, because that mix is what makes the conversation worth your morning.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the price $65 when the full value is $495?

This is the inaugural workshop, hosted in Dr. Taylor's hometown, and the inaugural pricing reflects that. Future workshops carry the full rate.

Why an application instead of a ticket?

Capacity is twenty, and the quality of the conversation depends on the mix of industries, roles, and experiences in the cohort. Applications are how that mix gets built.

Do I need a certification to apply?

No. Participants need at least three years of HR experience, and every attendee receives a certificate of attendance.

Where in Memphis is it?

The venue is announced in August. Accepted applicants receive full logistics, parking included, well before the day.

What if I can't stay for lunch?

The working session runs 8:00 to 12:00 and asks for your full attention to enhance the learning and minimize disruption to the flow of the day. Lunch is optional, but it is also where the connections form, so stay if you can.

Will the session be filmed?

Yes, the session is professionally filmed with most focus on the facilitator(s), and a media release is part of check-in. Testimonials are invited, never required.

What happens if I'm not selected?

You will be placed on the waiting list and first to hear when the next workshop opens.

My organization asks for a justification. Can you help with that?

Yes. Here is a link to the employer support letter. It states the business case in one page, with the full value spelled out.

Not in Memphis?

Memphis is the first workshop. Tell us your city, and you will be the first to hear when The HR Strategy Room comes near you.
